CMS Made Simple is a great open source cms system written in PHP. In fact, this very site is made with it. With it's amazing ability to allow "modules" to plug into the site, it can take a while to get it setup just like you want it. With this in mind, I began constructing a number of pre-packaged distributions of the CMS. Some add features, some take away features, but in the end they are just about choices
Redux
This package took the most work. The default CMS Made Simple package is over 8 megabytes! So, I removed some (mostly unused) stuff, and cut that down to 2.5 megabytes.
Changes
- Removed all language files except for english
- Removed all database support except for MySQL
- Removed unneeded smarty extensions
- Removed FCKEditor and added Cross-Browser Rich Text Editor
- Removed several modules
- Took out almost all images used in the installation and in the default template
- Removed All upgrade code, new install only!
Modules
- Search
- News
- Menu Manager
- Cross-Browser RTE
